This year’s E3 was full of wonders, and there are loads of top-notch
games that will be coming in the future. Sony’s conference was
absolutely mindblowing, and they showcased a lot of games, among them is
Capcom’s fan-favorite Resident Evil 2.
As you all know Resident Evil 2 is the next game
in the series, and finally, Leon is back and ready to wreak havoc.
Although, many fans consider the upcoming Resident Evil 2 a remake of
the game with the same name released back in 1998, the developers of the
game cleared all these confusions and explained why fans shouldn’t call
the game “Resident Evil 2 Remake.”
Why Resident Evil 2 Will Not Be a Remake?
The Manager of Capcom, Mike Lunn recently sat on an
interview with Gamingbolt where they explained how Resident Evil 2 would be a
different game rather than a remake. Lunn said “It won’t be faithful one to
one. For someone that’s played the game, some people played it once and some
people played it a thousand times because it’s their favorite game. For the
people that have even played it a thousand times, we wanted it to feel fresh.
That’s why we don’t call it Resident Evil 2 Remake. It’s a new game built on
top of the foundation.”
He also emphasized the changes in the upcoming game and said, “So for
example, there is a part where you’re walking through the police
station, and a lurker walks by the window.” However, this scenario and
all the puzzles are not included in the upcoming game as it was in the
original series. The developers reimagined all other kinds of stuff
rather than repositioned, just to challenge the gamers more, and they’ve
also increased the jumpscares at the same time.
The developers want to challenge the gamers and created the puzzles
in such a way that the players will find it difficult and challenging to
solve, and in case of the zombies, they will be hiding in such a
manner, that it will definitely catch players in surprise. He ends with
hinting that despite all the changes, the overall idea and the main
story arcs are still kept similar.
Resident Evil 2 already showed how improved it has got with the
stunning graphics and awesome gameplay but, it will be really
interesting to play the game and experience the new changes in person,
that Lunn was talking about.
Resident Evil 2 Release Date
