My Hero Academia the Movie: Two Heroes will come to Japanese cinemas on 3 August 2018 and has released a trailer that lets us take a glimpse at the ‘Blank Summer’ (Kuuhaku no Natsu)! The theme song of the movie will be performed by Masaki Suda and is titled ‘Long Hope Filia’. He is a big fan of Jump and this will be the first time he is singing the theme song for an anime movie.
My Hero Academia is an action series based on a manga by Kohei Horikoshi currently serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump.
This movie is the first one for the series and follows an original story supervised by Horikoshi.
The trailer shows how the heroes spend their summer and also introduces I-Island. We meet Melissa, a girl who is Quirkless just like Deku was in the past. Her father is an old childhood friend of All Might and we get to see scenes of All Might’s past. We are also introduced to a mysterious villain called Wolfram. More and more things are being revealed that make fans excited for the movie. How will All Might and Deku face this next crisis? Take a look at the trailer below!
Together with the trailer, the movie announced the theme song ‘Long Hope Filia’ by Masaki Suda. He commented, ‘As a Jump fan and a fan of My Hero Academia I am extremely honored and happy that I get to provide my first-ever theme song for a movie.’ He added, ‘I have always liked stories where anybody can become a hero because no human is born being able to do everything. That’s why I am looking forward to Deku’s growth in this movie.’
The title song ‘Long Hope Filia’ was written by amazarashi’s Hiromu Akita. He said, ‘I heard that the lyrics are more from All Might’s perspective than Deku’s. I feel like this song carries a lot of hope, warmth, and strength. As I sing and sing along the song and sing about the story of two heroes I feel that it also starts to connect to myself.’
The trailer will also start screening in Japanese movie theaters. The theme song will come out on 1 August 2018 but can be heard for the first time in full length on 19 June 2018, 1:00 JST during the broadcast of ‘Suda Masaki no All Night Nippon’.
