Pokémon GO is still popular among the fans even though it has been a very long time since it’s release. There was fest which was held Chicago however, for some reasons it wasn’t successful. If you were one of the ticket holders for the event then on 25th May you would have received a notification regarding the lawsuit settlement.

The lawsuit was filed so that the company would reimburse the cost of travelling for the event. The notice confirmed that Niantic will be paying US $1,575,000 into a settlement fund for anyone who had a ticket to the event.

Those who have the ticket and who wish to receive their share must submit a claim form of the settlement. The form should be submitted on or before 24th July. Attendees can opt-out if they wish to be part of any other lawsuit against Niantic. The final hearing of the whole thing will be on September 6.

Also, the money which will be left over after all claims have been settled, will be split evenly and will be sent as donations to the Illinois Bar foundation and to the Chicago Run. It has also been stated that if the settlement fund is inadequate, then to make up for the payments for each individual “may be adjusted downward on a pro-rata basis depending on the number of Claim Forms received and documentation and substantiation provided.”

Adding to this, Niantic has already offered to refund all ticket costs for the attendees and they have also offered US$100 in in-game currency. The event was held by Niantic at Grant Park in Chicago on July 22. However, the event turned out to be really abysmal because of the cellular network issues. After wards, Niantic released a statement saying that the main cause for the issue was actually related to the game’s servers. The local cellular networks’ and game’s servers were unable to handle the number of participants. Now, Niantic will be hosting a new Pokémon GO Fest event in Chicago, which will be held between July 14-15.
